You will learn how to use the social media we all use every day for a different purpose; to market products, brands, ideas, and people. Social media have transformed how businesses and all types of organisations, like Governments, schools and political parties, operate. To do social media marketing successfully, you need to know about two things; digital transformation and content marketing. You will learn about these at UWA through working on real-world marketing challenges.

The content is broken up into 6 modules: (1) Digital values; (2) New marketing normal; (3) Content marketing; (4) Paid social media advertising; (5) Social media monitoring; (6) Google Analytics.

Upon successful completion of this micro-credential, you'll receive:

  • Two PD Points
  • A Certificate of Achievement
  • A UWA Professional Development Transcript, listing all successfully completed micro-credentials

  • attend 6 x 3 hour classes, which will be comprised of lectures and activities.
  • learn practically, reflecting on real-life and contemporary examples of social media marketing. 
  • be assessed on your participation, a team project, and through a test.

Having completed this course, students will be able to critically reflect on the role social media play in marketing, organisations and society, and critically reflect on the theories underpinning the use of social media in marketing. They will be able to exercise judgement to recommend solutions around the integration of social media in marketing, and utilise social media to communicate to a range of stakeholders. Finally, students will developed team-working and communications competencies.
