Meet our team who will be attending to introduce you to all things UWA and Perth!

Dr Michael Palmer

Dr Michael Palmer 

Dr, Associate Professor, UWA Business School, Economics 

DDr. Michael Palmer is an Associate Professor in Economics at the University of Western Australia, Perth, Australia. A/Prof Palmer's research is largely focused on the economic and social consequences of ill-health and disability.  

A/Prof Palmer is Graduate Research Coordinator in Economics at the UWA Business School. He is the recipient of the 2021 Excellence in Teaching Award (Post-Graduate category) at UWA Business School.  

Before joining the UWA, he has held several academic positions including Head of Discipline and Senior Lecturer in Economics at RMIT (Vietnam), Research Fellow at the School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne, and Managing Director and Lecturer at the Vietnamese-Dutch Masters of Development Economics Program, Institute of Social Studies (The Hague). 

He has also held several non-academic positions including Asia-Pacific Regional Coordinator for the Disability Data Initiative and Promotions and Publicity Officer for the United Nations Association of Australia (NSW branch).

Ms Trinh Ngo

Senior Regional Manager, Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand

Trinh has been with UWA for more than nine years and has worked in the higher education sector since 2007. Prior to being a UWA representative, she was the Education Marketing Manager for the British Council in Vietnam and had held various managerial roles with Study Group Vietnam and the Southeast Asia region, working with Study Group’s institution partners in Australia, UK, US and Canada. As UWA’s Senior Regional Manager for Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand, Trinh represents UWA in these countries to lead the implementation of strategy regarding student recruitment, business development of the agent network and branding for UWA's reputation.
