Information for parents and guardians

If your child is in Year 10 or above, they’re probably starting to think about what comes next after high school. Deciding whether to keep studying is a big step, and one of the most important choices they’ll make.

As a parent or guardian, you’re a key part of that journey. You’re there to guide, support and help them make informed decisions about their future.

We’re here to support you, too. On this page, you’ll find everything you need to understand what life at UWA looks like, and how we can help your child reach their potential.

Ways you can help

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to supporting your child, but here are a few ways you can make a real difference as they plan their future

Start the conversation

Chat with your child about their interests, strengths and goals. The earlier these conversations begin, the more confident they’ll feel when making decisions.

Explore options together

Look into different courses, career paths and university experiences as a team. Open Days, campus tours and online resources are a great place to start.

Help them stay organised

From application deadlines to course choices, staying on top of key dates and details can ease a lot of stress.
