Most scholarships require an application through the UWA Scholarship Application Portal. Some scholarships are automatically awarded and do not require an application.
You only need to submit one application through the UWA Scholarship Application Portal, which will be used to assess you for all selected scholarships. As scholarships close at different times throughout the year, be sure to check the key dates and apply before the relevant deadline.
Late applications are not accepted under any circumstances.

If you are a future student, you will need to create an account on the UWA Scholarship Application portal. If you are a current student, you will use your Single Sign On.
Once you are signed in, our application system will show you all scholarships that you will be considered for. Take a look at what opportunities are available to you.
Once you are shown the scholarships that you are potentially eligible for, review the scholarship details to determine whether there are additional requirements such as financial hardship evidence, educational disadvantage evidence or personal statements.
To be eligible to apply for scholarships from UWA based on financial need you need to prove that you are in financial hardship.

Where possible, ensure you submit documentation to support your answers. For example, if applying based on a medical condition, you should provide medical certificates to support your circumstances.
Some scholarships require personal statements as part of the application process. Ensure you read the conditions document to understand the required statement and remain within the word limit.

Our application system only requires you to submit one application, which will be used to assess you for all selected scholarships. You will receive an email confirmation of your application.
Please note, the UWA Fogarty Foundation Scholarship and UWA Winthrop Scholarship will require a separate application.
After applications close, eligible applications will be assessed against the published scholarship criteria and applications will be ranked by a panel in line with the individual scholarship conditions.
Scholarships will only be awarded if there are applicants who are of sufficient need or merit and subject to funding of the scholarship.
All outcomes will be sent to applicants within two months of the published closing date of the scholarship round.
If you have been made a scholarship offer, you will receive an email with a link to the acceptance portal. You will have 2 weeks to accept the scholarship, after this time, the scholarship offer may be rescinded.
If you can’t see the offer in the portal but you received the email, log out and log back in with the email used for your original application. If this also doesn’t work, try logging in with your student number and password.

After census date of each semester, each scholarship recipient will be assessed against the individual continuation criteria of their scholarship to determine whether payment will be made for that semester.
As a rule, payments are made for Semester 1 from mid-April to mid-May and Semester 2 from mid-September to mid-October.

Yes. Some scholarships are available to continuing students, while others are only for commencing students.
Yes, provided you meet the eligibility criteria for each scholarship. Some scholarships can be held concurrently, subject to conditions.
Applications submitted after the closing date cannot be accepted.
Yes. If you are offered a scholarship, you must accept the scholarship conditions via the online portal to receive payment.
