Congratulations on your UWA Offer. If you need to delay your start, you can defer your offer for up to one year through UWA Apply.

How to defer your offer

You can defer your offer for up to one year through UWA Apply. Please keep in mind that some courses—like the Assured Pathways to Medicine, Dental Medicine, Podiatric Medicine, and the Bachelor of Biomedicine (Specialised)—aren’t eligible for deferral. If you're unsure whether you can defer your course, check the details in your offer.

If you already have a UWA Apply account

If you created an account using an email address, and submitted an application through that account, please login to UWA Apply. 

This will take you to your application dashboard where you can defer your offer.

If you don't have a UWA Apply account

  1. Go the the Pheme/Uni ID activation website
  2. Activate your Pheme/Uni ID using your student credentials ([email protected] and password)
  3. Create a PHEME/Uni ID password, and set security questions and answers.
  4. Login to UWA Apply with your UWA student number (available on your offer) and the Uni ID password you created in step 3.
  5. Click Defer for the offer on your dashboard.

If you are a UWA Agent wanting to assist a student to defer their offer

To defer an offer, login to UWA Apply with your agent login details.

If you have not yet set up an account in this new system or are having difficulty accessing it, please contact [email protected].

  1. Once logged in use the search button to find the student on your agent dashboard.
  2. Click the 'View As' button on the dashboard, this will take you to the student dashboard. Please note: If the application was submitted on our old system, you will be presented with a screen of the student's first name, last name and email for confirmation. Clicking 'Submit' will create an account in the new system for the applicant.
  3. You will see an offer with the option to click defer. If the student holds multiple offers, please click the 'View All Offers' link and select the offer you wish to defer on the student's behalf.

Frequently Asked Questions

If I defer my offer, how long will it take to receive a new offer?

Deferments are actioned by UWA Admissions on a fortnightly basis. Processing time can vary and be up to two weeks.
