There are plenty of entry pathways to study at UWA. Learn more about the best option for you.
The Indigenous Provisional Entry Scheme supports Indigenous students to undertake undergraduate studies by providing places for WACE students expecting an ATAR lower than the course entry requirement. You’ll still need to achieve a reasonable ATAR that varies depending on the course.
UWA also offers entry pathways for non-WACE students with other life and education experiences. Read on to discover what might be the best pathway for you.
This entry pathway is run by the UWA School of Indigenous Studies (SIS).
The Indigenous Provisional Entry Scheme is a great pathway for Indigenous WACE students expecting an ATAR lower than the undergraduate course entry requirement.
You’ll need to have:
If you’re an Indigenous student and achieved the required ATAR for your course, you can apply through the ATAR pathway.
If you’re an Indigenous non-school leaver or non-WACE student, there are still plenty of pathways to undergraduate studies.

To apply for UWA through the Indigenous Provisional Entry Scheme or Experience-based entry, visit UWA’s website. If you’re a Year 12 student, then you can apply for both entry pathways through TISC.
Applications for Semester 1 close in early February, while applications for Semester 2 close in early July.

Held at Bilya Marlee on UWA’s Perth campus, this information session is a chance to have a yarn about your career and study goals, your past life, work and/or study experiences, and what support you might need to complete your studies.
Our team will also work out which is the best entry pathway into uni for you, whether that’s through the Indigenous Provisional Entry Scheme, Experience-based entry or Aboriginal orientation course. If you haven’t already applied for uni entry, you can also complete this at the workshop.
The University Entrance Workshop is held in late January, June and November.
