Research Skills Fundamentals
This unit provides research skills training to equip students with the fundamentals to conduct research. Through a range of feature talks focusing on global issues, students are exposed to the theory and practice of research across different disciplines. Interactive workshops develop students' information literacy, writing and communication skills, and introduce them to the principles of ethical research conduct. The unit facilitates cultural exchange and understanding, and provides the opportunity for students to learn beyond the boundaries of their own institution and country. On completion of the unit, students are well equipped to participate in research projects or the UWA Research Internship programme.
Upon successful completion, you'll receive:
- 3 PD Points, convertible to academic credit
- A Certificate of Achievement
- A UWA Plus Professional Development Transcript, listing all successfully completed micro-credentials
- Delivery mode
- Classes will be taught online from Monday - Friday 10am - 12noon (AWST). Recordings can be watched after hours but recommended to attend in person online.

How does it work?
The unit will delivered online. Students will be expected to write a short abstract and give an oral presentation, similar in format to the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®).
