Broadway UWA

Broadway UWA is designed to ensure access to our courses is available to the broadest range of students with the potential to succeed at university.

The Broadway scheme allows eligible students from a Broadway-identified Western Australian school to receive an automated ATAR adjustment if the school at which they completed their final WACE examinations:

Broadway UWA criteria

For admission to UWA in 2018 to 2023, schools qualify under the revised Broadway program if they:

An applicant is eligible for consideration as a Broadway Assured Pathway applicant if they have undertaken their entire Year 12 studies at a Broadway UWA School and meet the relevant minimum eligibility requirements.

ATAR adjustment categories

There are two main categories of adjustment for eligible students.

Students with an ATAR of 70 to 79.95

If you achieve an ATAR of 70 to 79.95 you will receive an adjusted selection rank of 80, meaning you would be eligible to receive an offer to most UWA undergraduate degrees, provided you:

  • completed the requirements for the WA Certificate of Education
  • achieved UWA’s English Language Competence and
  • satisfied any prerequisites that may apply
Students with an ATAR of 80 or above

Students with an ATAR of 80 or above who meet the above criteria will also receive a positive adjustment to their selection rank, as follows:

Original ATAR 80.00 to 89.95:
+ 5.00 to a maximum of 90.00
Original ATAR 90.00 to 94.95:
+ 3.00 to a maximum of 96.00
Original ATAR 95.00 to 97.95:
+2.00 to a maximum of 98.00
Original ATAR 98.00+:
No Adjustment

How Broadway UWA works

Any student from a Broadway UWA school who submits an application through the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) for admission to UWA will be automatically identified and assessed against Broadway UWA criteria; there is no need to submit a separate application for Broadway UWA.

Eligible students will be notified through their Universities' Admissions Advice Letter (UAAL), on the TISC website, when they receive and view their WA Certificate of Education (WACE) results in late December.

It is important to note that eligibility for UWA undergraduate scholarships will continue to be based on original ATARs and not on adjusted selection ranks.
