Use OneSearch to find and access information for your studies and research.

You can retrieve an incredible range of useful resources, including items from UWA collections, full text articles, ebooks, databases and past exam papers. OneSearch is easy to use, but a few simple tips and tricks can save you time and improve your overall search experience.

• Library Guides

Library Guides provide quick, easy help with finding, using and referencing information.

These guides also offer self-help information on common issues facing postgraduate students, including copyright for theses, publishing, managing research data, and subject-specific sources and tools.

Access Library Guides

• ACE AND CARS - two compulsory units in your LMS

ACE (Academic Conduct Essentials) and CARS (Communication and Research Skills) are two distinct compulsory units, that you are expected to complete in your first year of study at UWA. They are designed to help you learn the expectations of academic scholarly practice and to gain a string grounding in basic study skills. Complete them both early in your studies, for a great head start to your studies. Look for them in your LMS., review the content and interactive activities and then complete the quizzes. You must receive more than 80% in each module to pass them. Once completed, you can go back and review the content of these units at any time for a refresher.

Referencing

Referencing shows where you have used other people's ideas in your work and is an essential academic skill.

Check out the Library guide ‘Referencing at UWA: A beginner’s guide' to find out about why you need to reference, how to manage your references, choosing the right style and getting help.

Always use the referencing style recommended in your unit outline.
