ATAR entry requirements to UWA
Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) is a ranking of Year 12 achievement, used by universities to assess your eligibility for admission.
To be eligible to UWA based on previous or current Australian Year 12 studies, applicants must have completed the relevant state Certificate of Education and achieved an Australian Tertiary Aggregate Rank (ATAR) of 70 and above.
Some of UWA’s courses require additional criteria for entry, such as tests and interviews. Search for your course, to view all entry requirements.
Beyond ATAR, applicants must also provide evidence of satisfying UWA’s English Language Competence (ELC) requirements.
Important update for 2026 and beyond
From 2026, we are updating the minimum ATAR entry requirement for several undergraduate and combined degrees. This will mean students in the 70 and above ATAR range will have more flexibility to explore a broader range of study and career options.
