Domestic Student Fees
Eligible Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) students can use the HECS-HELP loan program to pay their tuition fees. For Full-Fee Paying (FFP) places, students are charged an annual course fee.

Entry requirements
Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—
(a) achieved an ATAR of at least 75, or equivalent as recognised by UWA; or
(b) an assured pathway offer; or
(c) achieved a score of at least 100 in UWA's Experienced-based Entry assessment; or
(d) a place in a relevant UWA access program
English competency
English is the language of instruction and assessment at UWA and you will need to meet the English language requirements of the University to be eligible for a place.
This course has higher ELC requirements. Applicants presenting with the IELTS Academic require an overall score of at least 7.5, a minimum 7.0 in the reading and writing bands, and a minimum score of 8.0 in the listening and speaking bands. For more information visit ELC requirements.

About the Bachelor of Education (Primary) (Honours)
This course equips you with the knowledge, skills, and experience to graduate ready for the classroom, and for the profession. Develop your knowledge and understanding of how children learn and the implications for teaching and how to create safe, inclusive, engaging and supportive learning environments, combined with hands-on learning as you spend over 100 days of professional placement in primary schools, starting from your first semester.

Course structure
In your first three years, you will complete units that familiarise you with all of the learning areas of the primary school curriculum, as well as developmental and learning theory that enables you to design effective learning programs.

Through our Experience-based entry, we will assess all your academic achievements, qualifications and life experiences using a point system, where points will be awarded for each item submitted, and the total number of points will determine your eligibility.
Classroom practice
This course places you in the classroom from your first semester, with over 100 days of professional experience throughout your degree (the minimum number of days required from the TRB is 80).
This will provide you with the skills and experience to form effective working relationships and develop your professional experience in education.

Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships
Scholarships of up to $40,000 per student are available for students studying full time in undergraduate initial teacher education (ITE).

The Anglican Schools Commission (ASC) and the University of Western Australia (UWA) are running an innovative trial, the Professional Immersion Program for Educators (PIPE). Available for students enrolled in UWA’s Bachelor of Education (Primary) (Honours) program and provides the opportunity for paid work alongside a dedicated mentor teacher.
