Professor Anu Rammohan

Director of International Engagement, Business School

Anu Rammohan is Professor of Economics and the Director of International at the UWA Business School. She is the Senior Fellow for the Australia Indonesia Centre at UWA.

Her research expertise is in development economics, health economics and agricultural economics. The focus of her research has been on understanding household-level socio-economic factors that can influence maternal and child health outcomes, gender and food security issues in South and South East Asia, particularly in India, Indonesia and Myanmar.

Her research has been published internationally, and she has received research funding through competitive research grants from the Australian Research Council, DFAT, Australian Council of International Agriculture Research and the Australia India Institute.

Anu currently serves as a member of the Australian Research Council's College of Experts and is on the editorial board of the Economic Record.

Professor Mark Reynolds

Head of School, School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing

Professor Reynolds grew up in Perth, and studied Mathematics at UWA. He is internationally recognised for work on temporal and related logics in computer science with applications to ensuring correct behaviour of complex dynamic hardware and software systems.

He is an author of one of the most cited large research monographs in the area of temporal logic for computer science and published over 100 papers in international journals and conferences. Some of his most recent work develops temporal reasoning for AI in optimisation, machine learning and prediction.

He has received research grant funding from the UK EPSRC, the Australian ARC research council, industry and WA state government departments for projects in these areas.

Current large projects are funded by Main Roads WA, the iMove CRC, Austal shipping, and an ARC ITTC in Transforming Maintenance through Data Science.

Professor Reynolds also regularly serves on programme committees of international conferences and is on the editorial board of several leading journals in the area.

Professor Amanda Davies

Head of School, School of Social Sciences

Professor Amanda Davies is a social scientist with expertise in demography, population geography and rural and regional development. She is one of Australia's leading public commentators on population and demographic issues.

Professor Davies is the Head of UWA’s School of Social Science, overseeing 3 bachelors programs, 12 undergraduate majors and 7 masters programs. She also oversees an extensive research program for the social sciences at UWA, which is closely linked to community and industry partners and provides opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate student engagement.
