These highly specialised micro-credential courses are designed for registered optometrists wishing to expand their knowledge and clinical expertise. The Advanced Medical Retina course includes two micro-credentials, Part 1 and Part 2.
The Advanced Medical Retina: Part 1 & Part 2 micro-credentials are designed to provide eye care practitioners with advanced knowledge and practical skills needed to diagnose and manage retinal diseases, including age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
The course will review the state-of-the-art diagnostic and imaging tools can be incorporated into clinical practice. Participants will gain the knowledge to interpret the images to enhance their capacity and confidence in diagnosis and managing retinal diseases.
By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and insights required to diagnose and manage patients with retinal diseases. Additionally, you will learn how to stay updated with the ongoing developments in the field, ensuring lifelong learning.
Upon successful completion of each micro-credential, you'll receive:
- 3 PD Points (stackable for academic credit in award courses)
- A Certificate of Achievement
- A UWA Plus Professional Development Transcript, listing all successfully completed micro-credentials
