Indigenous outreach programs
Inspiring Indigenous high school students to pursue higher education.
Our interactive programs inspire Year 7-12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students to pursue higher education by introducing them to university life.
Each program offers the chance to meet current university students, learn about courses and entry pathways, and test out different disciplines through engaging activities. Experience them on-campus at UWA, Perth, or at your school.
All programs are run by UWA’s Indigenous Student Services team.

About our programs
Our programs form a progressive journey, supporting Indigenous high school students at key stages of their secondary schooling. Each stage builds on the last – moving from identity and aspiration to clear, supported pathways beyond Year 12.Years 7–9
Early engagement
Our Year 7–9 programs spark curiosity and build a strong sense of belonging within higher education. We focus on early exposure, positive experiences and helping students to see university as a place where they belong. Students explore:
- Identity, strengths and future possibilities
- What university is and who it is for
- How learning connects to real-world careers
- Early goal setting and confidence building
Years 10–12
Choosing your pathway
Our Year 10–12 programs provide clear, practical information and personalised support as students prepare for life after school. These programs are designed to reduce uncertainty and empower students to make confident, informed choices. Students explore:
- Entry pathways
- Course options and faculty areas
- Speak with current students and university alumni
