Frequently asked questions
What are the changes to broadening units?
There is now a new, simpler way to meet your broadening requirements. You are only required to complete 24 credit points (normally four standard units) from outside your degree-specific major. There is no longer a requirement to meet the Category A or Category B broadening requirements that have previously existed.
Will these new course changes affect my degree?
No, the changes won’t impact your current course and progression to graduation. Your current course rules continue to apply unless you choose to apply and transfer to a new course.
Can I transfer to one of the new courses?
Yes, if you are due to complete your course requirements in 2021 or later, you may be able to transfer into one of these new degrees if you meet the requirements of the degree. Applications to transfer will open in October.
Who do I contact for more information?
Your Faculty Advising Office will be able to provide tailored advice about the new courses and the process for transferring to a new course, should you wish to.
How do I apply?
Applications to transfer open on 9 November and close on 10 December 2020. To apply, visit the How to Apply page and login with your student ID or student email.
