A message from your Guild President

"There is an incredibly connected social network of people at UWA, and regardless of what your background is, or what your interests are, there will be a spot for you. We want to create a place where no student feels isolated or unsupported.

We’re going to be working on providing safe, respectful, and fun Guild events, making it easier for people to find their niche in a new and exciting university setting.

The Guild is an incredible team of student representatives who all want the best for every student on campus, volunteering their time and energy to make some fantastic things happen, so keep an eye out for what we have planned in 2026!"

Oliver Barrett

2026 Guild President

International students

There is some additional information on our current international student's webpage. Don't forget to register for a pre-departure session and book your airport pickup service before you arrive.

Once you arrive, visit us at the International Student Lounge, located at Room G31, Ground Floor, Social Sciences/Student Central Building (next to International Student Support team office). This is your dedicated space on campus where you’ll meet staff and student ambassadors who can support your transition to UWA.

First year experience support

  • uniMentor

During your first semester at UWA, you can connect with a dedicated UniMentor – a current student who will provide invaluable guidance to help you navigate university life.

Starting university can be both exhilarating and challenging, but our mentors are here to assist you every step of the way. Whether you have questions about where to get help with referencing, information about social activities or simply want to discover the best study spots on campus, our mentors are here to ensure your transition is as smooth as possible. Throughout the semester, you'll have the opportunity to engage with your mentor individually and as a group, to get insights into being a UWA student and connect with others.

Look out for an email in your student inbox around Orientation Week, where you'll receive instructions on how to connect with your UniMentor through our UWA mentoring app.

We look forward to supporting you throughout your journey at UWA.

  • Broadway Connect

Broadway Connect offers tailored support for first year students from an equity background at UWA. Through Chronus, UWA’s mentoring app, you can connect with peers, ambassadors, and staff for advice on accessing resources, understanding university culture and campus life, and seeking support. You’ll get to attend mentoring sessions with personalised support, and events led by Student Ambassadors for you to connect and meet new people.

If you are eligible (a domestic student from a Broadway UWA or Aspire partner school, or you’re moving from a rural, regional or remote area, or you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander), you’ll receive an email invitation to join the program via your student inbox at the beginning of your first semester.

  • Just for me - how to uwa Guide

Complete your online personalised "Just for Me - How to UWA Guide", which will provide you with tips and resources to help you get off to a strong start with UWA with information about our Crawley campus services.

  • Orientation (AKA 'O' week)

Starting university is an exciting milestone and Orientation is designed to help you begin with confidence. Through a range of interactive sessions, campus tours, and social activities, O-Week connects you with essential information, resources, and the people who will support you throughout your journey.

Attending Orientation is one of the most important steps you can take to support your transition into university life. You’ll learn how to navigate your studies, understand expectations, and discover the services available to help you thrive both academically, socially, and personally. It’s also your chance to meet fellow students, build friendships, and start feeling part of the UWA community from day one.

Register for all events and activities on the UniStart Orientation page
