Sports Awards and Blues
The annual UWA Sports Awards acknowledge students and members of UWA Sporting clubs for their outstanding service and achievements. See the following Award nominations:

- Volunteer of the Year
Nominations will open on 28 August 2026 and will close by 5pm on Nominations will close 5pm, 27 September 2026.
Finalists will be announced on 5 October 2026, with awards being presented at the UWA Sport Awards on Friday 23 October 2026.
The UWA Sport and Blues Awards celebrate excellence in sport within the University of Western Australia community, recognising the outstanding achievements of students, volunteers, and sporting clubs across all levels. These prestigious awards honour those who have made significant contributions to university sport, both on and off the field. Applications are open for any person, club, organisation or sporting body to nominate themselves or other individuals for the above-mentioned awards. The Awards Assessment Period is from 1 October 2024 - 31 September 2025, with the exception of the Club Service award which is based on the long-term service of the nominee.
Blues
Blues are considered the highest honor universities can bestow upon outstanding student athletes for not only their athletic abilities, but also their contributions to the university and their respective clubs throughout the year.
UWA Blues are one of UWA's oldest and most prestigious traditions, awarded by the UWA Sports Council to UWA student athletes since 1921, including many notable Australian sportspeople.
2026 UWA Blues nominations will open on 28 August 2026 and will close by 5pm on Nominations will close 5pm, 10 October 2026.
All UWA Blues recipients will be notified on 22 October 2026, with awards being presented at the UWA Blue Awards on Thursday 12 November 2026.

Past Award Winners
Brooke Kemp
UWA West Coast coach Brooke Kemp has demonstrated exceptional coaching across every level of swimming—from junior athletes at local club competitions to representing Australia at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Romania. She leads the UWA West Coast Developing Nationals Blue Squad and in 2025 led the club at the Singapore National Swimming Championships, where they achieved medal success.
UWA Cricket Club
In 2025 the UWA Cricket Club enjoyed its most successful season in its 122-year history. Winning the First Grade Two-Day Premiership, the Colts T20 Premiership and a string of top-grade performances, the club secured the prestigious WA Premier Cricket Club Championship title. UWACC's impact extends beyond the field, with strong community engagement and leadership in wellbeing initiatives.
Megan Bagworth
Under Megan Bagworth's leadership as president, the UWA Boat Club has thrived both on and off the water—winning State Championships, revitalising the Shenton College junior rowing program, championing the Rowing Access Program and recruiting the club's first full-time head coach. Megan's unwavering commitment has secured financial stability, enhanced athlete pathways, and strengthened community partnerships.
Kyle Lee
Kyle Lee has established himself as one of Australia's leading open water swimmers. In an outstanding 2025 season, Kyle was crowned Australian Champion at the Australia Open Water Championships in Busselton and represented Australia at the World Aquatics Championships, where he won bronze in the 10km Open Water.
