Western Series

Compete against other Western Australian universities

The Western Series aims to provide the opportunity for students to compete in exciting local intervarsity competitions against other Western Australian universities. 

In 2024 the following Western Series events are planned:

  • Tennis Tournament

    Competitive Round
    When
    : Tuesday 19 March
    Time: 2pm - 7pm
    Where: UWA Tennis Courts 
    Cost: Free for UWA Students

    Participation Round
    When: Wednesday 20 March
    Time: 2pm - 7pm
    Where: UWA Tennis Courts 
    Cost: Free for UWA Students

  • International Student Challenge

    When: Thursday 18 April, 8am-3pm
    Where: UWA Sports Hall, UWA Crawley Campus
    Sports: Badminton, Table Tennis and Volleyball
    Eligibility: International and study abroad students

    Training Dates

    • Tuesday 2 April, 4:30pm-6:00pm @ UWA Sports Hall
    • Monday 8 April, 4:30pm-5:30pm @ UWA Sports Hall
    • Monday 15 April, 12:00pm-2:00pm @ UWA Sports Hall

  • Indigenous Games

    When: Tuesday 28 May
    Where: UWA Sport - multiple venues
    Sports: TBC
    Eligibility: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students

    • Thursday 9 May, 4pm-6pm, UWA Outdoor Courts
    • Monday 13 May, 4pm-5:30pm, UWA Sports Hall

  • Pride Cup

    UWA Sport will host the inaugural Western Series Pride Cup. An exciting opportunity for LGBTQIA+ students and their active allies*  from all Western Australian universities to participate in All Gender sporting competition. This event is in partnership with LGBTQIA+ sporting organisation 'Pride Cup'

    When: Tuesday 30 July, 9am-3pm
    Where: UWA Fitness and Recreation Centre 
    Sports: 3x3 Basketball, Hockey and Ultimate Frisbee 
    Eligibility: LGBTQIA+ students and active allies
    Teams: Minimum 3 people, maximum 5 people. Each team member needs to complete an individual registration
    Cost: Free

    *Active Ally: This is open to students who are allies to the LGBTQIA+ students competing in this event and visibly supports the inclusion of all LGBTQIA+ people. Understanding the discrimination and harassment that many LGBTQIA+ face and continue to educate themselves on how they can be an active ally.

  • All Abilities Cup

    When: Tuesday 27 August, 8am-4pm
    Where: UWA Sports Hall
    Sport: Wheelchair Footy
    Eligibility: All students
