Our research
As a research-intensive faculty, we encourage the lifelong assessment and adaption of new theories, treatments and diagnostic techniques that incorporate a holistic approach to the health sciences and a more sensitive interaction with patients.
Our pioneering research work in many fields continues to have impact on the health of people worldwide – be it in preventing preterm birth, discovering the genetic basis of inherited and acquired disorders, or regenerative medicine.

Faculty Excellence in Teaching and Service Awards
The annual Faculty Excellence in Teaching and Service Awards acknowledge the University's outstanding teachers and support staff and are competitive at the University level. The Award categories include areas such as early career, team or program, and learning and teaching support.
These awards are aligned with the UWA Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Australian Awards for University Teaching.

Collaborations
Faculty staff collaborate with prominent institutes, teaching hospitals, specialist research organisations and community groups on a wide range of projects. Researchers across the schools work with national and international teams from Southeast Asia, Europe, the United States, Canada, South Africa and India.

Foundation
The Raine Medical Research Foundation has supported scores of major research projects, funded two Centres of Excellence, established fellowships and scholarships, participated in major joint ventures, and fostered medical research at the undergraduate level.
For the past 35 years the Medical Research Foundation (MRF) has been improving our community’s health by funding the world-class medical research, ideas and innovations being undertaken at Royal Perth Hospital (RPH).
