Clinical Training and Evaluation Centre (CTEC)

A world-class interactive hospital training environment

UWA’s Clinical Training and Evaluation Centre (CTEC) is an Australasian hub of medical simulation knowledge and know-how, with a highly practical approach to medical and surgical skills training.

CTEC brings together an interactive hospital environment with expert clinical educators to offer training to medical professionals from junior doctors to senior consultants in a way that supplements traditional clinical-based training.

Workshops use a range of mechanical, computerised and inanimate tissues to replicate surgical procedures and scenarios, providing an authentic setting for doctors to learn clinical and behavioural skills.

In addition to CTEC’s workshops for medical professionals, the centre runs practical surgery skills workshops for students in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) courses.
