I am a local graduate with 20 years experience in retail pharmacy. My prime interest is in community pharmacy and the complexities of patient care especially communication with patients, carers and other health professionals. I have also taught pharmacy at the undergraduate level for the last 5 years with a focus on tutoring and mentoring students in the community sector.
Other interests

My strong interests in communication skills and counselling lead me to train as a facilitator for the Virtues Project. This successful international programme is recognised by the United Nations as a means of improving communication and self development. Through my work as a Virtues Project facilitator I have been fortunate to be invited to many schools in Western Australia over the last 10 years to help teachers, students, parents and administrators to develop their skills of communication. I have spoken at local and international conferences on the use of the strategies of this project and have successfully conducted workshops for many sectors of the community. In 2005, I was made a Master Facilitator for my services to the Virtues Project. This work has significantly enhanced my own skills as pharmacist and educator.
In addition to being registered with the Pharmaceutical Council of W.A., I hold registration with the California State Board of Pharmacy in the US.
