General Meetings of Convocation are the general meetings of The University of Western Australia. Two general meetings are held each year.

• Autumn General Meetings provide the opportunity for UWA graduates to hear the latest information on current issues in tertiary education from expert speakers.
• Spring General Meetings enable the Vice-Chancellor, the Warden of Convocation and the Guild President to provide an update for you on the operations of your University.

Notice of Special General Meeting

Notice is hereby given that a Special General Meeting of the members of Convocation will be held on Wednesday, 11 November 2026 at 6:45pm at Wesfarmers Lecture Theatre, UWA Business School.

The special meeting is called following a request to do so from not less than 50 Members (“the Request”) received by the Warden in accordance with the University of Western Australia Statute clause 22(2).

The Request states that the purpose of the special meeting will be:

1. to identify the key features and adverse impacts of the current proposal for a ferry service terminal in Matilda Bay and associated works on and near to the foreshore; and
2. to resolve the appropriate means by which Convocation can make submissions to UWA requesting that it formally and expeditiously request the WA Government to immediately pause the current proposal and properly investigate other options

Only the business specified in this notice will be transacted at the meeting.
