Advancing Clinical Education - HPEDM506

Advancing Clinical Education: Innovation, Reasoning and Leadership is the third micro-credential in a series designed to support health professionals in developing their capabilities as effective clinical educators and emerging leaders. This course focuses on enhancing teaching practice in complex clinical environments by equipping participants with practical, evidence- informed strategies to support learner development and collaborative practice. Participants explore approaches to fostering clinical reasoning, facilitating meaningful interprofessional learning, and integrating simulation-based education with structured debriefing to strengthen clinical skills. Emphasis is placed on creating supportive learning environments that promote engagement, reflection, and teamwork across healthcare disciplines. Through a structured reflective portfolio, participants critically examine their own teaching practice, apply contemporary educational approaches, and demonstrate their growing capacity to lead in clinical education. The micro-credential supports the development of reflective, adaptable educators who can contribute to high-quality, collaborative healthcare training
environments. Participants are better prepared to enhance learner outcomes, strengthen interprofessional collaboration, and take an active role in shaping the future of clinical education.
