Deanna Hitti: Mezze

31 July – 19 September 2026

Mezze uses culinary traditions as a lens through which to explore what it means to be Australian, both historically and in the present day. Spanning installation and print media, the exhibition features a lavish banquet-style table setting and a monumental series of prints centered around the artist’s bicultural family home and her mother’s passing down of traditional Lebanese recipes in an attempt to preserve family traditions and language. Mezze invites visitors to browse, share their own family recipes and traditions, and reflect on how multiculturalism has shaped their own experiences.
