Cyanotype Masterclass by Deanna Hitti

Friday, 31 July, 10am-4pm

Discover the art of cyanotype printing with Melbourne-based artist Deanna Hitti in this hands-on Masterclass at UWA School of Design, supported by Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery.

Deanna Hitti is an Australian artist of Lebanese heritage whose multidisciplinary arts practice spans more than 25 years. Working across traditional and experimental printmaking processes, including cyanotype, she creates intricate artist’s books, installations and large-scale prints that investigate themes of language, identity, memory and cultural hybridity.

Drawing on her extensive experience, Hitti will introduce participants to the history and creative possibilities of cyanotype printing. Through hands-on experimentation, participants will use this historic photographic process to create their own unique blue prints.

The ALVA Graphics Workshop (Room 110) is located on the first floor of the UWA School of Design (Building 681), Corner of Hampden Road and Stirling Highway, Nedlands.

Booking is essential as the class is limited to 15 participants.

The ticket costs cover all required materials.

Through this expansive work she explores aspects of Australian identity, the influence of multicultural culinary traditions and the importance of community.

On show at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery 31 July – 19 September 2026. The gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday, 11am-4pm. Entry is always free.
