The family of the late Dr Boon Tock Lim have donated funds to The University of Western Australia ('the University') to establish a scholarship in honour of the late Dr Boon Tock Lim, to assist and encourage students who have graduated from the UWA Fairway Program to pursue a Cycle 1 undergraduate degree and subsequently a Cycle 2 postgraduate degree. Dr Lim practised anaesthesia for many years, both in Perth and regional Western Australia. During his long and successful career, Dr Lim volunteered his services in the developing world with various charitable organisation. The family are grateful for the fulfilling life they experience in Western Australia and have established the scholarship in recognition of this.

Eligibility
Eligible candidates are automatically considered for the scholarship and do not need to submit a separate application.
To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, an applicant must—
(a) be a commencing student;3
(b) enrolling at the University for the first time;
(c) have successfully completed the UWA Fairway Program;
(d) in the year prior to commencing study at the University, have completed the requirements for year 12 Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) or equivalent; and
(e) have applied for an Early Offer to the University, or applied through the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) for a place at the University, nominating a course at the University as their first preference in the first round of offers;
3 A commencing student is a student who is enrolling in a course of study for the first time, i.e. the first semester of study.
