Mr Harold Brett has bequeathed funds to The University of Western Australia (`the University?) to provide a scholarship to encourage and assist a regional or remote music student who plays a string instrument to commence and pursue a Bachelor of Music at the University.

Eligibility
To be eligible to be considered for a scholarship, a prospective student must—
(a) be a domestic student;
(b) be eligible to enrol—
(i) full-time unless the selection panel is satisfied that there are exceptional circumstances which preclude full-time enrolment;
(ii) in the Bachelor of Music degree course;
(c) audition with a string instrument; and
(d) have attained an Australian Music Examinations Board (‘AMEB’) grade 5 or equivalent.
An Australian citizen or permanent resident or holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa or a New Zealand citizen.
Exceptional circumstances include, but are not limited to, a medical condition or major family commitments.
Acceptable string instruments include bass, cello, viola or violin.
