Your Orientation is personalised to suit your individual needs as a student. It is essential to attend as it will help you in being more familiarised with the campus, give you the chance to meet with other students and staff. O-Week is held from 15-19 July 2024.

Connect with a UniMentor

As a new student, you can connect with a UniMentor to help you navigate life at UWA. UniMentor's are experienced students who can provide advice and recommendations on uni life or catch up with you on campus. You will be able to connect with your Mentor on the Vygo app from early July via an invitation to your student email.

Pre-Departure Sessions are for international students only and will be online via Teams.

Join our UWA International Student Support team to receive tips and advice related to you as a new to UWA international student. We encourage you to attend one session prior to your arrival in WA.

Enrolment and Timetable Support dates will be announced soon.

Visit Student Central on the Crawley campus to receive personalised tips and advice from a UniMentor (current UWA student) to help you with navigating the UWA systems, guidance for you as a new to UWA student. These sessions are for all students.

Registration not required. Note: this is drop-in style, simply visit Student Central, Perth Crawley Campus during the above times.

Welcome ceremony; Friday 29 July

The Welcome Ceremony will be held for all commencing students on Friday 29 July at Winthrop Hall, Crawley campus. There will be a morning and afternoon session.

The ceremony provides a formal welcome to the University by a dignitary and the UWA Guild President. Students also receive a Noongar Welcome to Country.

No registration required.

If you are a new College Row resident then it is important you attend your College specific orientation activities. You will be emailed directly about these activities.

UWA College Row includes; St Catherine’s College, St George’s College, St Thomas More College, Trinity Residential College and University Hall.

Winthrop Hall

The Hall is one of the Hackett Memorial Buildings funded by a bequest from the first Chancellor of the University, Sir John Winthrop Hackett. It features a Clock Tower, a glazed terracotta gryphon’s frieze that circles the building just under the roof eaves, an undercroft and a reflection pool at the front.
