To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—
(a) a Bachelor of Geology, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA;
and
(b) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 50 per cent.

Course details

Meeting the ever increasing energy needs of the world’s population is a major challenge. Geoscientists use their understanding of Earth processes through deep time and their ability to integrate multiple datasets to secure vital energy supplies. Geoscientists need to be adaptive in a changing industry and contribute their skills to global CO2 emission reduction and sustainable practices. This course provides you with the knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems in the field of energy geoscience.

About the course

This course will enable you to develop skills in geological and geophysical data analysis and integration of datasets related to sedimentary basin analysis and energy geoscience. Emphasis is placed on the development of practical skills underpinned by conceptual knowledge, and the application of both to solving problems related to basin history and petroleum exploration through coursework and research project components of the course.
