Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—
(a)(i) a bachelor's degree in a health profession, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; or
(ii) a master's degree in a health profession, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA
and
(b) registration as a health professional with the relevant regulatory body (such as AHPRA)

Ranking and Selection Process

Where relevant, admission will be awarded to the highest ranked applicants or applicants selected based on the relevant requirements.

English competency

English is the language of instruction and assessment at UWA and you will need to meet the English language requirements of the University to be eligible for a place.

Minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.

Course structure

Postgraduate coursework degrees and combined (coursework and research) degrees comprise a number of units. Refer to the course structure for more information.

All students must take all core units (12 points)
All students must take at least one specialisation group (24 points)
Coursework students must take either 36 points of optional units from Group B or 12 points from Group B and an additional specialisation group (24 points)
Coursework and Research/ Dissertation Students must take 18 points from Group B.
All students may substitute optional units (Group B) with any unit from the Specialisation groups, provided the outlined point rules are followed.

Advanced standing pathways

Once enrolled in a UWA course, you can apply for credit for units passed in a previous course, either at UWA or from an external university or institution. To apply, complete an Application for credit transfer, advanced standing and recognition of prior learning form and submit it to your Student Advising Office via email or in person.
