Career Pathways

Allied health professionals may choose to become credentialled diabetes educators through the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA).  

You'll specialise in diabetes, including the role of social determinants in diabetes, education on new diabetes technologies, and training to address complex diabetes issues and health promotion, including appropriate diet and exercise recommendations.   

 

Allied health professionals may choose to become credentialled diabetes educators through the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA).  

You'll specialise in diabetes, including the role of social determinants in diabetes, education on new diabetes technologies, and training to address complex diabetes issues and health promotion, including appropriate diet and exercise recommendations.   

 

Further Study

This graduate certificate can serve as an entry pathway to a master’s degree. Units completed in the graduate certificate can be credited towards the Master of Advanced Clinical Practice and Doctor of Pharmacy.

Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—a) A relevant bachelor's degree as a health professional, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA.
AND
b) Practicing as a registered Australian health professional with the relevant professional organisation (e.g. registered pharmacist, registered optometrist, registered podiatrist, registered physiotherapist, registered psychologist, registered nurse, registered midwife, registered medical practitioner, registered dentist, registered Aboriginal Health Worker, accredited practicing dietitian, accredited exercise physiologist)

Ranking and Selection Process

Where relevant, admission will be awarded to the highest ranked applicants or applicants selected based on the relevant requirements.

English competency

English is the language of instruction and assessment at UWA and you will need to meet the English language requirements of the University to be eligible for a place.

Minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.
