Award verification
If you're a third-party (institution, employer, or background screening agent), you can verify a UWA graduates’ qualification via award verification service.
There are three ways to verify a student’s qualification
1. Graduate Verification Service (GVS)
The Graduation Verification Service (GVS) is a simple, streamlined way for organisations and employers to quickly and easily verify a UWA graduate’s qualification back to 2010.
The service is offered by the same organisation that provides the My eQuals digital documents system utilised by the University for sharing qualifications digitally. Verification requests are handled through RapidID, which matches against the GVS to confirm the graduate’s qualification claims. The graduate must give consent for this verification to be undertaken.
How does it work?
- Create a RapidID account or login to your account.
- Order a verification check of the graduate.
- The graduate is sent an SMS with a link to a secure portal, allowing them to provide their academic qualification details for verification.
- The service will confirm if the graduate’s supplied qualification details are a 'match', 'partial match' or 'no match' against the University's records in the GVS.
- You will receive a notification of the verification result.
Please note:
- the date displayed is the conferral date and is not the date when the program requirements were met. Students who have met the requirements for an award, but have not yet had it conferred, will not be listed.
- if a person has changed their name since graduation, their award details may be under a previous name. Check with the graduate for the name recorded on their testamur.
For more information, visit the RapidID website for more details.
2. Ask the student to share their documents
You may ask the graduate to share their UWA Testamur via My eQuals. All graduates from July 2018 have been issued Testamurs via My eQuals.
3. Complete the award verification form
For direct assessment by UWA, please complete the Award Verification Request Form.
- Complete the Verification Request Form [PDF 282kB] with the graduate’s details, contact information, and consent.
- Once we have confirmed the graduate’s authorisation, you will receive a link to make a payment of $35
- Once payment has been received, you will receive a notification of the verification result via email within 2 University Working days
