Class timetable
Once you’ve enrolled in your units, your next step is to set up your class timetable by choosing the days and times that would suit you best for each of your classes. You do this in an online application called Class Allocation System (CAS).
Want to know the proposed class times for units before you enrol?
Use the 2025 Timetable and Summer School Timetable systems to search for the unit(s) you’re interested in. Please note this information is not final and may change.
Important updates
Class Allocation System dates for Semester 2, 2025:
- Preference mode: Tuesday 17 June 2025 (12pm) until Monday 7 July 2025 (10am)
- Review and adjust mode: Tuesday 15 July 2025 (11am) until Wednesday 13 August 2025 (12pm)
- Read only mode: Wednesday 13 August 2025 (12pm)
Helpful information about timetabling
- CAS preferences are not first come first served so you don't need to worry about setting your preferences early.
- Most classes will finish 15 minutes before the hour (so a class scheduled from 10am to 11am will finish at 10.45am). This means that when you enter preferences or adjust your allocations, you can check the class venues to factor in travel time, and then select back-to-back classes if appropriate.
- When your timetable has been generated, select a class to access Mazemaps (campus map) to help you find your way to classes.
- If you can’t attend an in-person lecture that you’ve been assigned to in your class timetable, you should be able to catch up via the lecture recording on LMS.
Timetable stages run sequentially as follows
Preference mode
17 June - 7 July
- During this period, you can select which time you would prefer for each of your unit’s classes.
- Each unit may have a series of classes (lectures, tutorials or seminars) with several timeslots available. Choose your top four timeslots (select 1 for your top preference).
- If you don’t enter preferences, CAS will automatically allocate your classes.

- You can:
- Check that all your classes have been allocated and select classes that haven’t been assigned.
- Swap your allocated class time for another available class.
- Join a waitlist for a full class and if a seat becomes available and you’re at the top of the waitlist you’ll be automatically swapped in.

- The review and adjust mode will remain open for a short period for you to make any final adjustments to your timetable.
