The Global Impact Challenge

Venture UWA & UWA Global Engagement are bringing together UWA students from diverse cultural, academic, and international backgrounds to tackle real-world challenges from international businesses, all in one action-packed day.

Here's what makes this different: teams are intentionally multicultural. We're selecting small groups of students from each country, meaning you'll collaborate with people who think differently, see problems differently, and bring perspectives you've never considered.

You'll work with challenges from: Indonesian Chamber of Commerce Western Australia, WA Chinese Chamber Of Commerce, Australia India Business Council, WASBC - WA Singapore Business Council, Bhutan Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Mini-Olympics by UWA CELT 

The CELT Student Mini-Olympics is one of our much-loved student events, bringing together CELT students for a morning of fun, friendly competition and connection.

Students participate in a variety of team-based games and challenges that encourage communication, collaboration, and confidence while providing opportunities to build friendships outside the classroom. The event celebrates the diversity of our CELT community and supports students to connect across cultures in an enjoyable and inclusive environment.

As an existing CELT event, we're delighted to feature it as part of Global Engagement Month, recognising the important role it plays in fostering belonging, intercultural connections, and student engagement.

Global Connections Conversation Café

Join us for a relaxed and welcoming conversation café where domestic and international students come together to connect, share experiences, and celebrate the diversity of the UWA community.

Through guided conversation starters, small-group discussions, and interactive language and culture exchanges, you'll have the opportunity to meet new people, learn about different cultures, and discover words, greetings, and expressions from languages around the world.

Whether you're looking to build confidence communicating across cultures, make new friends, or simply enjoy meaningful conversations over a coffee, everyone is welcome.

Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with the International Student Support!

Come along and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with the International Student Support (ISS) team!

Cultural Carnival

Join Sanskriti for a vibrant Cultural Carnival, open to all students regardless of their background. Come along to celebrate culture, connect with friends, and experience India’s community. Enjoy mouthwatering curries and other traditional Indian food paired with refreshing drinks. Explore block printing in our arts and crafts corner, play interactive games and check out a unique research showcase featuring work by Indian professors.

Myths, Memories and Midnight Tales

Every culture is built on the stories passed down through generations. Join AAYA for Myths, Memories and Midnight Tales, an evening celebrating authentic Asian folklore, history, and lived experiences. We’re bringing together guest speakers, student drama performances, interactive trivia with prizes, and free food! Whether you’re here to hear rich oral stories or just want to unwind over good food, come connect and relax from semester stress.

Taking Learning Global: From Ideas to Impact

As we celebrate Global Engagement Month, we're spotlighting the students who took their learning overseas and the academics who made it happen. Join a panel discussion with:

• Associate Professor Khyber Alam, Dean and Head of School, School of Health and Clinical Sciences (Optometry — Vietnam & India)
• Dr Robyn Choi, Head of Audiology and Senior Lecturer, School of Human Sciences (Audiology — Vietnam/VinMec)
• Dr Jin Hong, Senior Lecturer, School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing (Cybersecurity — Korea & Vietnam)

They'll share their experience designing, funding, and delivering these study tours, and what it meant for students, partners, and the University. The session will close with audience Q&A.
