The School of Indigenous Studies or ‘SIS’, as we like to call it, provides dedicated support for Indigenous students at UWA. It’s important to us that our students have everything you need to achieve your goals and thrive at university.
You’ll find the SIS Student Services team on the Upper Ground Floor at Bilya Marlee, where we are always ready to have a yarn with you. You can also reach us at +61 8 6488 3428 or [email protected].
Apply for financial assistance
SIS provides financial support to Indigenous students, where possible. You can use the below form to apply for financial support.
Please note, we can only support costs that have not been paid (unless there are exceptional circumstances and you have received an exemption from SIS staff). Applications are reviewed and approved by SIS on a case-by-case basis.
In your application, please make sure to:
- Describe in detail what you need financial support for (for example, what do you need to buy/pay for)
- List your current sources of income (such as ABSTUDY, work and/or scholarships), including approximately how much ($) you receive from each source every fortnight
- Upload any invoices, screenshots of costs or relevant email correspondence
