The Indigenous Strategy aligns the vision, strategic objectives and performance of Indigenous Education at UWA with the University's strategic directions and the national Indigenous higher education agenda.

  2. Increase number of UWA students taking Indigenous studies units at UWA.
  3. Establish Indigenous teaching and learning protocols and best practice guidelines.

  1. Recognition of Indigenous knowledge and knowledge holders.
  2. Enable culturally determined research, setting the research agendas that meet Indigenous needs.
  3. Establish research training that builds skills base and is accredited.
Quality Research
  1. Promote Indigenous research protocols and guidelines - community and discipline specific.
  2. Provide Cultural training and development of all senior staff, researchers, students, supervisors.
  3. Embed Indigenous engagement in research decision-making.
  4. Establish Indigenous knowledge as a strategic research priority.
