Infringements and appeals
Parking on UWA campuses is managed under the UWA Lands By-Laws and regulations.
Our car parks are regularly patrolled, and parking restrictions apply as shown on signage within each area.
To avoid an infringement, make sure you:
- Have an active EasyPark or parking machine parking session.
- Park in the zone that matches your parking session.
- Follow all parking and road signs.
Understanding your infringement
If you're unsure why you received an infringement notice, here are common parking offences and associated fines:
| Offence | Fine |
| Driving other than on a traffic area | $45 |
| Exceeding speed limits | $90 |
| Failing to give way when entering or leaving a parking area | $90 |
| Disobeying traffics signs | $90 |
| Breaching an act or regulation | $90 |
| Parking without a valid parking permit or ticket | $45 |
| Parking in a no-parking area | $45 |
| Parking in a disabled bay | $70 |
| Parking a motorcycle, motor scooter or similar vehicle outside a motorcycle area | $45 |
Options for dealing with an infringement notice
If you receive an infringement notice on campus, you can:
- Pay the amount shown on the notice within 7 days (includes the date of issue) - a $10 discount applies if paid within this timeframe (discount does not apply to appealed infringements).
- Appeal the infringement within 35 days.
How to pay
Pay online using Visa or Mastercard via the Pay Infringement portal.
Appeals
If you believe your infringement should be waived, lodge a written appeal within 35 days of the infringement date through the parking appeals portal.
Important:
- Appeals are reviewed by a UWA Reviews Officer.
- Appeals won't be accepted if the infringement has already been paid or after the 35 day window.
- You'll be notified by email of the outcome of your appeal.
- A second appeal is only accepted if new relevant information is provided.
- Verbal and email appeals will not be accepted.
