World Travel Protection Limited provides pre-travel information for UWA travellers (staff and students) (via the Travel Assist App) including:

  • Emergency Calls and mayday alert

*Please note the services provided by WTP relate to international and domestic travel.

Getting Started

1. Download the Travel Assist mobile app

For step-by-step instructions and download links, refer to the appropriate guides below. These links are accessible by Staff and HDR students via UWA login credentials. For undergraduate students, contact Global Learning Office for registration information.

WTP Travel Assist App Guide – For travellers whose flights have been booked through FCM
WTP Travel Assist App Long Stay Guide - For extended trips where a one-way flight is booked through FCM and the return trip has not been booked
WTP Travel Assist App Student Self-Funded Travel - For students or staff arranging their own travel

2. Register on the Travel Assist App

All users need to register on the Travel Assist mobile app first prior to accessing the traveller portal. Then you can simply ‘Sign-In to your Account’ with the same username and password.
Important: When registering, use your UWA staff or student email address linked to your ID number - do not use name-based email addresses.
For example:

3. Sign in to the Traveller Portal

Navigate to https://portal.travelassist.worldtravelprotection.com/uwawtp

WTP provides 24/7 medical, travel, and security assistance for UWA travellers through the WTP App, Portal, and dedicated phone line.

Medical Assistance

  • Locate and arrange medical care
  • Coordinate hospital admissions and emergency evacuations
  • Facilitate payment guarantees for medical bills
  • Provide interpretation services

Travel Assistance

  • Help with lost documents, money, or luggage
  • Rebook travel due to delays or early return (If FCM travel unable to assist)

Security Assistance

  • Real-time security advice and global risk monitoring
  • Emergency call feature via the WTP App
  • Automated alerts and location tracking
  • Pre-travel advice and destination reports
