Perth Festival captures and presents an ever‐expanding orbit of stories, from the local to the global, helping support the next generation of creative thinkers every year. The Festival reflects the vast array of cultures and circumstances in contemporary Australia, and contributes to Perth’s cultural life. Deep traditions of festival presentations include its free large-scale opening events, music program and films.
For more than 70 years, Perth Festival has presented award-winning, first-run world films at the UWA’s picturesque Somerville Auditorium from November to March. As glorious summer sunsets coax our imaginations into the evening, the community is invited to bring a picnic and sit back with friends and strangers alike to share cinematic dreams full of new voices, new stories, and new ways of seeing the world under the stars.
