Discover the support behind your success
Whether you need academic support, wellbeing services, financial advice or help settling in, there's a team ready to support you every step of the way. If you’re looking for academic advice, UWA's Academic Skills Centre team runs workshops and one-on-one tutoring for you to build your confidence in a range of areas, from researching and writing, to presenting and mathematics. For more support, browse our health, wellbeing and other services so we can help set you up for success.
Find your people
One of the best parts of university is meeting people who share your interests. With more than 160 clubs and societies to choose from, you'll find plenty of opportunities to make friends, try something new and become part of the UWA community.
Explore scholarship opportunities
Every year, UWA offers a wide range of scholarships to help students take the next step towards making their impact. It's worth taking a few minutes to see what opportunities may be available to support your studies.
Scholarships terms and conditions apply. See website for eligibility.
Get hands-on experience
At UWA, you won't have to wait until graduation to gain practical experience. Our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) or internships lets you choose from a variety of options to get real, hands-on experience in your area of interest. You’ll get to develop your skills, make connections, add to your resume and see what life’s like in the industry you want to work in. Some courses require you to go on a professional placement like teaching or law, but you can choose to take on a practicum even if it’s not required for your degree.
Look for a placement as part of credit towards your degree or find work experience outside your course, such as vacation work, an internship or becoming a UniMentor. You could also explore Guild Volunteering, the Career Mentor Link program, the McCusker Centre for Citizenship or the Perth USAsia Centre for opportunities. WIL can also consist of industry research projects or international experiences.
Find your favourite spot on campus
Whether it's your go-to coffee stop, a sunny study spot or somewhere to catch up with friends between classes, exploring campus is all part of the experience.
Consider living on campus
Do you dream of waking up just before class but still making it on time? Want the best access to all our facilities? Perhaps living at one of our colleges directly opposite campus is for you. College Row consists of five accommodation options for UWA students where you can enjoy public transport right on your doorstep, making that trip to the shops, beach or city quick and easy. Browse them all to see which one is for you.
Take the first step towards your future career
