ABOUT THE FUND
In honour of Elizabeth Pearce and her love of the ocean, Elizabeth’s family and The University of Western Australia have established the Elizabeth Pearce Marine Science Fund.
Hosted by the UWA Oceans Institute, the fund provides a deeply meaningful legacy to support students who share Elizabeth’s passion for marine sciences.
SUPPORTING RESEARCH COLLABORATIONS
Each year the Awards will be granted to the two highest-achieving students enrolled in the UWA Master of Marine Biology program who submit a research thesis.
The fund will provide financial assistance to travel to and attend the annual Australian Marine Sciences Association (AMSA) conference. There, the awardees will present the results of their master’s research to a national audience. The opportunity to attend the conference is significant as it paves the way for research collaborations, internships and future employment.
