Public Talk –Strike Camps

The Legacy of John Wilson

Thursday, 3 September, 11am–12pm  

A public talk with family of photographer, John Wilson and members of the Strike Camps curatorium including descendants of the strikers who will speak about the legacy of the 1946 Pilbara Strike, life on the mining camps and the significance of the photographs on display in the exhibition. 

Please arrive at 11am for an 11:15am start

Strike Camps is presented at LWAG by Nomads Charitable and Educational Foundation, with support from Lotterywest, Spinifex Trust, the School of Design at the University of Western Australia and The Berndt Museum. John Wilson's work is exhibited with permission of his family.

Warning: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander visitors are advised that this exhibition contains the names and images of people who have passed away.

Strike Camps runs 3 September – 5 December 2026, Tuesday – Saturday, 11am-4pm. Entry is always free.
