Lecture: Buddhism with Senior Tibetan Buddhist Monk Thupten Lodey

Friday 22 September, 1-2pm

This is a rare opportunity to have an intimate audience with a Senior Tibetan monk, who will offer a lecture on Tibetan Buddhism and spirituality.

Senior Tibetan Buddhist Monk Thupten Lodey was born in Tibet in 1957. He took novice ordination in 1967 and full ordination in 1977. He received the Gyugchenpa degree in 1979 and was Dean of Gyuto Monastery in 1984 and 1993. In 1994, he, with a group of monks, travelled to Australia to create the first Tibetan sand mandala in the Southern Hemisphere. He moved to Australia in 1998 and founded the Tibetan Ancient Ritual Arts Centre (WA), which later, with blessings from his Holiness the Dalai Lama, became Phendheling Tibetan Buddhist Centre. He has been teaching there since then.
