Identity and Portraiture: discussion with Gemma Weston and Lee Kinsella

Friday 15 September, 1-2pm

A discussion by the curators on themes and ideas arising from current exhibitions at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery.

Join Gemma Weston, Curator of the UWA Art Collection in conversation with Lee Kinsella, Curator of the Cruthers Collection of Women’s Art, as they discuss curating, together with connecting themes and ideas arising from the current exhibitions on display at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery.

Although focussed on very different subjects, the exhibitions WILDFLOWER SEASON and BLAZE: people made known , both consider how identity and biography can be revealed or concealed in art and how exhibition-making can become a form of portraiture in itself.
