Artist in conversation: Elvis Richardson - Virtual event

Friday, 13 October

Part of the public program accompanying 'BLAZE: people made known'. Join artist Elvis Richardson in discussion with curator, Lee Kinsella.

Elvis Richardson collaborated with Virginia Fraser to present a wry commentary on the current situation of women artists on the cover pages of a fictitious FEMMO magazine. The combination of photographic portraiture with incisive text results in larger-than-life-sized broadsheet covers that are blatant and unapologetic provocations. The artists insert themselves and their peers into the genre of the glossy art magazine as a playful assertion of the right to this space and visibility. Join Elvis Richardson in an online discussion with curator, Lee Kinsella, to be seen, to be heard, and to be part of the conversation… Please register for this event. Details for the online event will be sent to you closer to the event.

Please note: in keeping with the University's guidelines, space is limited for this event and registration is required.
