Join us for a powerful afternoon of art, storytelling and activism as we launch our new exhibition with a special panel event featuring two exhibiting artists.Hear from Margaret Morgan as she reflects on her life and practice in Los Angeles, including her iconic stick works and feminist interventions. Fiona Foley shares the inspiration behind her work.Moderated by Lee Kinsella, Curator CCWA, this panel offers rare insight into the role of the artist as activist, challenging systems and shaping cultural memory through creative practice.

Place Makers draws attention to the work of four exceptional artists whose work is grounded in relationships of place and community. Each artist takes inspiration from the gritty realities of everyday life to re-frame these moments as extraordinary, with nuanced and closely observed narratives offering diverse perspectives for understanding the world. Spanning from the 1920s to the present day, the exhibition features  new and loaned works alongside holdings from the Cruthers Collection of Women’s Art.
