Western Force
UWA has partnered with the Western Force to support its vision of becoming the leading force in world rugby through the sharing of resources and collaborative research.
Our partnership with the Western Force represents UWA’s commitment to promote Western Australian elite men’s, women’s and grassroots sport for the prosperity of the whole community, and our vision to be the leading university in Australia for participation, performance and inclusion in sport.
About the partnership
Partnering with the Force’s men’s and women’s teams helps our students to become career-ready by providing them with greater access to internships, work-integrated learning, volunteering and employability opportunities with the Western Force.
The partnership also provides study opportunities to talented players whom the Western Force seeks to help professionally develop off the field for careers after they finish professional sport.
Through the partnership, UWA students and researchers work together with the Western Force to share knowledge, expertise and resources in a collaborative way. This includes progressing joint research projects in the area of high-performance sport.
As the official supporting partner of the Western Force Schools Cup, UWA is proud to help the Force develop the game and nurture talented 12-to-18-year-olds in State high schools. The partnership also helps the Western Force attract the best talent to WA and to UWA’s elite athlete program to support professional, academy and women’s players.

Partnering with WA’s leading university to empower and provide our players with the opportunity to develop their off-field skills for life after rugby is invaluable. The multi-faceted nature of the partnership is built on the foundation of sharing resources to help each other develop and achieve in our respective fields.TONY LEWIS
