Understanding the fundamental workings of the economy and global markets
A degree from the UWA Business School’s Economics department will provide you with the relevant skills and experience necessary to take a leading role in the business world and define your future career in a range of specialisations.
Economics was a founding discipline of UWA when it was established in 1911. Today, the Economics discipline is one of four departments within the world-renowned and internationally accredited Business School, hosting regular visits from acclaimed global academic economists.
The Economics department has strong connections with industry through the Business School Board, corporate partnerships, high-profile alumni and research collaborators around the world. These connections influence course design and structure to ensure our teaching stays ahead of industry trends.
Graduates from the Economics department have gone on to build successful careers as professional economists in institutions such as the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Treasury.
Welcome from the Head of Department
