Privacy collection notices

A Privacy Collection Notice is used to inform individuals of the intended collection, storage, use and disclosure of their Personal Information. 

A Privacy Collection Notice explains how UWA manages personal information transparently, helping to reduce misunderstandings or concerns for individuals who provide their personal information.

Personal information is defined in the University’s Information Privacy Policy [PDF 220KB].

Privacy Collection Notices may include: 

• The identity of the agency collecting the information
• The purposes for which Personal Information is collected Any law that requires the particular Personal Information to be collected.
• The main consequences (if any) for the individual if all or part of the Personal Information is not provided.
• To whom generally (the types of individuals or organisations) the Personal Information will be disclosed to.
• The rights that the individual may exercise over the Personal Information they provided.
• The contact details of the University’s Privacy Office should an individual wish to discuss the collection, use and / or storage of the Personal Information.
• Where to access further information including the University's Information Privacy Policy.

University’s Privacy Collection notices

Currently university has three collection notices:

1. Student Privacy Collection Notice Relates to Personal Information collected from the University students.
2. Staff Privacy Collection Notice Related to Personal Information collected from the University Staff.
3. Community Privacy Collection Notice Relates to Personal Information collected from the University Community.
