What are my accommodation options around UWA?

To make starting your student journey a little easier, we’ve put together a handy guide to the accommodation options around UWA.

We understand everyone has a different idea of what makes a house a home. So, know that if you decide to study at UWA, you’ll have plenty of accommodation options to choose from.

College accommodation

By living on-campus, you’ll have the convenience of living opposite UWA while being welcomed into a supportive community with a lively social and academic culture. We have five residential colleges for you to choose from, all of which are located on College Row.

St Catherine’s College is a vibrant place to live, where students are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and service to the wider community. St George’s College is about balancing work and fun with a calendar packed full of social, academic and sporting events. Get ready for regular game and movie nights, academic tutorials, inter-college sports matches, study groups, photography clubs and drama productions. St Thomas More College, affectionately known as ‘Tommy More’, is like one big family; a welcoming college where there’s always someone close by to offer support or advice. With a 24/7 Recreation Centre, including pool table, ping pong table, Foxtel TV, and communal seating area, you’ll have plenty of places to catch up with friends. You can find further details here.

Trinity Residential College has excellent facilities and beautiful grounds, all within a tight-knit community. Living here means access to a world of opportunities, including exceptional academic support and an enormous range of social, sporting, cultural, environmental and charitable activities. University Hall is the only residential college owned and operated by UWA. UniHall has the most diverse collegiate environment with the largest population of residents, meaning you’ll meet people from over 52 countries. Live off campus through UWA

Crawley Village student accommodation is made up of residential houses, units and studio apartments, all of which are owned and operated by UWA. All options offer a comfortable environment next to our campus, with easy accessibility to public transport. Shopping and entertainment are close-by, including Broadway Fair Centre and Claremont Quarter Shopping Centre.

Managed student accommodation

If you’d prefer to live in the heart of the city, you can secure a room through one of the many student accommodation providers in Perth.

Campus Perth offers four different fully furnished room types at budget-friendly prices. With 24/7 security, communal spaces, a fitness centre, rooftop terrace, library and gaming area, Campus Perth is a great option that combines student life and city living. 

Alternatively, The Boulevard (run by The Student Housing Company) offers the ultimate in student living with a range of accommodation options, rooftop cinema, skyline views, terrace pool and lots of study spaces to choose from. 

Private rentals 

If you like the thought of living independently, there are a variety of properties available for rent across Perth, which you can apply for through local property agents. Useful websites that allow you to search for private rentals include Realestate.com.au and Domain, or you can search for existing share houses through Flatmates.com.au and Flatmatefinders.com.au

UWA is located in the Perth suburb of Crawley, so naturally a lot of students choose to live here. Alternatively, popular nearby locales include Claremont, Subiaco, Nedlands, Dalkeith, Daglish and Shenton Park.

Homestay

Homestay lets you live with an Australian family, and it’s a great first step when you’re settling into your new life in Perth. As part of your stay, you’ll usually receive a furnished room, utilities and meals as arranged per the homestay package you choose, and support from your homestay provider.
